Sharani Series Book 3

Skies, Book 3 in the Sharani Series, officially has a cover! Here it is!

Here’s the blurb for the book – it will be out August 18th. Tell your friends and anyone you know who likes my books!

“For the Rahuli people, the world has just gotten a lot bigger.

Gavin, now the unchallenged leader of the Rahuli, finds that life with the slave “rebellion” is much more about staying alive than fighting back. The former slaves want the Rahuli to assimilate—forget about their history, culture, and the battle they just fought against the Orinai. But for Gavin, the wounds are too fresh and the stakes are too high to give up now.

Meanwhile, Lhaurel is a prisoner of the Seven Sisters, the mysterious and ruthless mages who rule the Orinai. Held by threats against the Rahuli and somehow cut off from her magic, Lhaurel travels to the Orinai capitol. But as more time passes without her magic, she finds it harder to keep resisting her new Sisters.

But Lhaurel might not be enough to protect the Rahuli anymore. Her powers are a secret worth killing for and the Orinai are coming once again. To keep his people alive, Gavin must earn the trust of the former slaves or they won’t stand a chance against the approaching Orinai army.

Can the Orinai be defeated or have the Rahuli entered a fight they cannot win?”

Sequel to SANDS + Audiobook Updates

So hey, yeah, STORMS, the sequel to my debut novel SANDS, is coming out on January 7th, 2016.  Yep.  That’s three weeks from Thursday.  Guys – it is an awesome book, my best work yet, and – wait for it – I am willing to give you a free PDF Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) before anyone else gets to read it.  What’s the catch?  Well, I’ll give it to you free if you promise to provide an honest review (even if you hate it, please still review it) on launch day (that’s Jan 7th).  Here’s the blurb (attention – SPOILERS for SANDS ahead):

“Storms rage across the Sharani desert. Those clansmen who survived the devastation in the Oasis take refuge in the Roterralar Warren. But just as they grew to understand in the Oasis, maybe they weren’t meant to be together at all. Change is in the wind. The Orinai are coming.

Gavin struggles to find his place within the clans while Beryl begins to recognize that what he did in calling the Orinai will have devastating consequences. In an effort to atone for that, he sets in motion events that will lead to the end of safety and, possibly, the destruction of the Rahuli people.

After waking from weeks of troubled slumber, Lhaurel struggles with what she had to do in the Oasis and the burdgeoning powers within her. As everything she holds dear begins to fall apart again she is plagued with the one, most important question. Can she save her people once again or is she unwilling to pay that price?”

If you’re interested in being on of the lucky ARC recipients and reviewing STORMS when it comes out, message me either through the comments here or the “contact me” information.  I’m looking for at least 10 volunteers.

Moving on, even more exciting news – Sands is going to be an audiobook!  Tantor Media picked up the rights to produce the audiobook, which is scheduled for release Feb 9th, 2016.  It is up for pre-order on Amazon already.  I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am about this.  With my extremely long commute to work every day (ok, only 45 minutes each way) I listen to audiobooks a lot.  That’s how I get my reading in now.  Audiobooks are an extremely awesome media that is growing more and more popular each day.  The narrator is Tanya Eby, who does great work and has received multiple awards for her narration.  Tantor Media’s profile for her explain it thus:

Tanya Eby is an Audie-nominated and AudioFileEarphones Award–winning narrator. AudioFile magazine says, “Listening to Tanya Eby is like listening to a full-cast recording.” Tanya has a BA in English language and literature and an MFA in creative writing. Besides narrating, Tanya blogs and works on her own novels. She has published four novels and is at work on her fifth.

You can listen to some of her sample narration here.  And check out Tantor Media’s page about the SANDS audiobook here.

I also had a great opportunity to be interviewed by book blogger, Star Noble.  She’s a high school student running a book review blog, which is really cool in its own right.  She did a review AND had a Q&A interview with me.  Look it up here.  Really, go do it.  As a high school student, I never would have had the gumption to do what she does, so go support her.

Anyway, that’s it for now.  Keep writing and get ready for an awesome ride with Book 2 of the Sharani Series.  STORMS is gonna be good.
