Announcement Time! My novel, Sands of the Sharani, was picked up by Future House Publishing last week.  They’re hoping to get it out sometime this summer or early fall so if I seem to disappear off the face of the media earth, it’s only because I am immersed in edits, proofs, and the million-and-one other tasks involved in getting a book onto physical and cyber shelves.

In honor of that, I wanted to share some of my rough concept art used in conceptualizing and writing this novel and the outline for the series as a whole.  Starting today and at least once a week moving forward, I will share a drawing or two related to the novel.  I am by no means gifted with drawing skills, nor are these drawings to be considered “canon” regarding the text.  It is concept art used to help me visualize things and get thoughts onto paper, nothing more.

Anyway, today’s drawing is of a sailfin, the smallest but most plentiful of the three genesauri monsters.

  1. How big are we talking here? You said smallest, but looking at it I’m envisioning like a foot long, but that thing could easily be a hundred feet long.

    • Sailfins are generally between 8 and 14 feet long and about 1.5 – 2 feet thick (diameter). Packs of sailfins generally number from 9-100 individual members.

  2. Kaitlynn

That is a really cool looking monster! Can’t wait to read it
